Early morning today I received the news that a friend passed away after her battle with cancer. We met through a crochet group and she became a friend and an example of so much goodness and strength. I’m having a hard time holding my hook or doing anything but crying but I have to. She would want me to. I committed to finish things. I have a young son in Heaven and I hope they are watching me and laughing today as I am all tangled up in a mess of yarn and tears. Sorry for the very messy post. I’m worse than the worst of all yarn barf. Would you all please do me a favor and dedicate one of your stitches to Heaven today, and tell her : This is for you Carrie

So sorry for your loss. I lost my grandmother to cancer a few years ago, but I still miss her a lot. I will think of your friend while I’m working on things today.

I lost a family friend just over a month ago now to cancer during late January, so I do feel your pain and I understand just how heartbreaking this is for you 
I am so sorry for your loss, losing someone special is such a hard thing to go through. But I promise you make them proud each and every day

I’m so sorry for your loss, I lost my grandmother to COVID last year and it’s definitely easier said then done to get things back to normal, take all the time you need to grieve, I’ll definitely dedicate stitches to your friend Carrie and your son

Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry. The grief is overwhelming in the beginning. Cry it out. Once you’re past that, the grief comes in waves, cry then too.
It was most helpful to talk to someone about the person who died or write in a journal.

Thank you so much for everyone who have responded and supported me. Today is still being a hard day. Holding my hook hurts but not holding it hurts more, so having your words made a huge difference. I am new here but I’m happy I joined. I’m still getting to know you and I hope maybe some of us will get to be friends too one day.

I’m sorry for your loss. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Ik its tough but remember to eat and to drink and take breaks. I think we all here will dedicate more than just one stitch to your friend and son, and to everyone else who has been or is in this situation or knows someone that is fighting cancer right now. My bf’s mom was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and its been tough to handle but I’m trying my best to be there for him.
