Daily Wolf Progress Update (formerly poll)

As some of you may have guessed from my sneak peek earlier, I am currently crocheting my own wolf pattern. However, I have hit a bit of a stalemate bc of my own uncertainty! I have made the two front legs, but I can’t tell if they are long enough, or if I should make them a few rounds taller. What do you think?

  • Yeah, they’re too short!
  • No, they’re long enough!

i love wolvessss…
how much is the pattern gonna be and if it’s money would you be willing to trade

Me too, they’re my absolute favorite!

I’m thinking the pattern will probably be about $5, bc it’s going to be pretty big. But I might be open to trade!

Is the wolf standing or sitting on its honches? (Sorry if I spelled that wrong)

Will the legs be crocheted in over 2 rounds or squeezed shut then crocheted in on one round, or sewn on? (These methods all have different heights when attached, so it matters)

I think they look fine right now but might look a bit better with a couple rounds more!

They look so good!

For a realistic look, they could be much longer. I think in that size they correspond to a cute plush look, or maybe like a baby wolf. So it depends what result you want.

It’s good to refer to a photo or draw it before, to be sure of the proportions you want, and to follow a reference while making the pattern.

It will be standing! And I will be working in a method similar to this video (not sure how to describe it in words rn):

Ok, ty!

To answer the question, I think 2 rounds longer but only because you asked! It’s so good  it’s still not too short if you don’t make them longer. Sorry I can’t vote because I love:two_hearts: your wolf:wolf:

Thank you! I’m going for a semi cartoonish, semi realistic look, so it is a bit hard to determine the right proportions. I have created a little ref sheet, though.

@HeartFeltedcafts @littlemisswonderful It’s hard to explain, but I took the same yarn I used for the feet, and sewed three lines, one for each space where the four toes would seperate, and pulled the yarn as tight as I could, causing the feet to bubble between those lines and form toes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to a swer! And I agree, I think two or three rounds might be an improvement!

This is off-topic but I thought those were wolf leg boots and got really excited about it for a moment.
If you ever happen to make wolf foot boots please let me know.

Also, i teally admire your stitch work. It’s very neat.

Ok. Since they will be crocheted in, 2 or 3 rounds will basically be added on in the joining (yes, it will technically be part of the body rounds, but it will look like the upper part of the legs as they get larger) I think with that info, I’d suggest that the legs are long enough as is.
