very true lol
iād love to join!
This does sound fun! The first 2 weeks of September might be hard for me to participate. But Iād enjoy joining in when I am able!
Yay! We are happy to have you whenever youāre able to participate!
Me too - Iām so excited!
Excited to have another person planning to join us! Welcome aboard!
I totally understand, and ofc only do what you can - donāt want to add stress to anyoneās life! Weāll be glad to have you whenever you can join!
I canāt believe September is already here, but Iām so excited because that means itās officially time for Stashbust September (SBS)!
If youāre confused, please see the first post
here which outlines the entire concept OR feel free to ask questions/send me a chat if you need any clarification! Iāve also updated the initial post with the entire monthās prompts, for anyone who likes to plan ahead!
This first week of our Stashbusting challenge the focus is on WEARABLES which encompasses a whole host of options for you. Some examples of wearables would be clothing, bags, jewelry, scarves, hats, socks, gloves, shawls, and various other accessories.
You can go as big or small as you want with your wearable; use any colors or weight of yarn you feel like, follow a pattern or freehand it. You donāt have to finish your project, as whatās most important here is making progress. Youāre also welcome to use the same project for multiple prompts, if relevant, so if you want to tackle a bigger wearable but are worried about time constraints, donāt sweat it!
The goal of this month-long exercise is simply to challenge ourselves to use yarn we already have to create and is meant to be fun - please please please donāt stress yourself out over it.
Iāll update in the morning with options and examples from Ribblrās pattern library, but remember youāre not required to use any of those patterns (or a pattern at all ), theyāre purely for inspo. If you already know the project you want to tackle and/or the yarn youāre going to use for this weekās prompt, sound off in the comments!
In addition to regular prompts, bonus prompts are a fun way to learn more about one another and connect (responses to these are not required to participate in SBS). This weekās bonus prompt is an invitation to share your stash (or the specific yarn youāre trying to use up) and/or any particular goals you have for the first phase of this challenge.
Are you using this opportunity to reclaim your craft space from encroaching yarn? Purging your collection of pesky skeins? Getting more organized? Market prepping? Seeking inspiration or motivation? Want to engage more with the community? Hoping to step outside of your comfort zone? Just for funsies? Something else entirely?!
Feel free to share with us!
Iāll be destashing from my: WIPs and Yarns
My goal(s): To finish the WIP and/or finish the skeins for this WIP
The WIP: A knit shawl , hereās the current photo from my WIP. Click here for pattern on YouTube
Yarn(s): Lion Brand - Boogie Nights in High Roller (3 skeins)
Iām still on the first skein. Itās hard to capture the color of the yarn, but it does feel soft, this yarn is solely for the WIP so hopefully itās the exact amount! Or at the very least whateverās leftover is enough to make something else
Needles: Using Susan Bates circular knitting needles US 11/8.0mm - 24 inch/61 cm
Iāll for sure update when I finish the shawl or at the end of the week, maybe when I finish a skein and show some progress to see how far along that skein went
Love the little structured breakdown - such organization. Itās coming along beautifully, btw. Thatās a gorgeous color from what I can see, and I really like the look of the stitches/lace with the bulkier yarn.
i think for this week i moght try to make some ear warmers. om trying to stock up on things like that to sell
Iām working on a bunny hat for my brother for his birthday, so this is perfect!? Iām using a yarn that I had no idea what to do with, but thought this would be perfect
Ohh thatās a great idea! Sounds like a super cozy project ^.^
Thatās so sweet, and Iām glad it worked out well with the challenge!!! Iām excited to see the hat and the yarn you went with!
Thanks I wasnāt sure how it would come out with bulkier yarn but since far it looks good!
Iāve got a cardigan I need to finish. So happy I can join in this week
Donāt tell, but I think I actually prefer it with the bulkier yarn
Seriously, though, it does look great and donāt you just love when you sort of roll the dice and things actually turn out well?
Woohoo!!! Iām happy this theme is actually working out well for some of you! ^.^ Eager to see your cardigan progress
Going to keep adding to this specific reply as I gather more patterns, but just a cursory perusal of Ribblr has some great options (both free and paid) if youāre looking for inspo. If you need help finding this post again, just jump to post 1 where Iāll be updating with links to make things easier to find.
Reminder: you donāt have to use any of these paterns, theyāre just examples of the theme!
