I’m sure you’ll get used to it after a while! when I got feels like bliss for the first time it was so hard to see my sts, but I can see them now bc I know what to look for
I love to use this kind of yarn! You really just have to get a feel for it once you’ve used it for awhile you’ll start to see the stitches! My best advice is start small and go by feel until you can see the stitches! Also make sure you use the right hook I know this can be obvious but don’t size down your hook to much from the hook size on the tag I know your supposed to for plushies but don’t size down too close to the sun! It can make it easier to see the stitches if the stitches are bigger! Hope this helps! ![]()
Hmm that’s probably why I had a lot of trouble… it recommends a 8mm but I used a 5.5.m hook lol
This yarn is fairly equivalent to Bernat Blanket. When I crochet amigurumi with it, I use a 6.5mm hook and I skip the typical 6sc starting magic ring and do 12sc instead. (It’s thick enough that it can appear pointy.)
Also, if the pattern you are following uses yarn and hooks that are a bit smaller, you may find that your heads and bodies elongate because the stitches stack thicker/taller. Frog out a straight row or two if your shapes are coming out too tall.
Your plushies will come out much larger, but it’s kind of fun. I will say that itty bitty patterns can sometimes look muddy because of how plush the yarn is. But, your plushies will also look so fluffy and cute!
Thanks for given us ‘MERICANS a price I was abt to google how much it was lol
My advice: double strand the yarn with a thinner acrylic (or other i cant stop you) and use the thinner yarn to help see stitches
Your makes look soo good!
Thanks for the advice, I’ll keep that in mind!
DlTTO !!
It’s so cuteeeeeee
You’re welcome! I have used it enough that I can actually see my stitches and there is no guesswork. The top view of your stitch row looks like Honey Smacks to me, puffy with a line down the center. It gets easier to see after a couple of rows.
I love making Ditto with Premier Basix/Bernat Blanket. It’s so squishy and perfect!
What pattern did you use I might need a ditto ![]()
There’s a free Ditto pattern on Instagram that I semi-used, but I sized it down so I wouldn’t end up with an oversized throw pillow. I made the full pattern once, and it was huuuuge! ![]()
(You can totes make the entire thing if you want a massive Ditto.)
Massive ditto mwahahahahahahhahhahahahahaaaaaaa![]()

I grabbed the one in your shop (I don’t have insta so I’ll just size up the pattern)
And holy cow your shop is SO AMAZING your eeveeloutions are so cute!
Thank you very much! The fairy kitty is currently in testing and I hope to be able to release it in a month. ![]()
When I’m using yarn like that, I have to put ALL MY FOCUS into counting stitches. Feeling the stitches helps too!
Overall, the biggest thing is just PRACTICE using the yarn. The more you do, the better you’ll get!
Good luck! ![]()

or you could just give it to me
Yes I love this yarn way more then bernat blanket. I’ve made several loaf cats with it.
I use a very similar yarn like that, so heres a tip from printrest that might help!
I have to say I think the most annoying yarn I’ve worked with is Eyelash yarn.
my only recommendation is stitch markers as you have 2 loops on your hook.. it makes it harder to lose the stitch. On the positive side, it’s harder to see mistakes ![]()
I can only make scrunchies with that kind of yarn. Easy to see when you stretch the elastic. I have a bunch that I use just for that rn.
