Does anyone else have this problem?

When I crotchet an Amigurumi sometimes when I decrease my Amigurumi get stretched out at the bottom? I have been working on it and sometimes that doesn’t happen but I don’t know.

How do you do decreases? Regular or Invisible decrease, etc

edit: Also what yarn are you using when it happens? Do you happen to have any photos of what you mean?

Do you do the invisible Dec? Or just regular?
Also are you yarning over of under?

Forgot to ask but by stretched out are you referring to the bottom stitches making it get the gaps/holes or are you referring to the overall amigurumi where the whole bottom gets stretched out?

I am referring to the Amigurumi where the whole bottom get stretched
out. But the top is fine.

Hmm are you accidentally tugging/pulling the work? It can also be that your tension is getting looser so when put the stuffing it’s stretching, it can also be because you’re overstuffing does it stretch before or after stuffing?

I’m not sure but thanks.

Try yarning under its tightens up the tension. However I do feel this could be also hook size and maybe a tension issue. Red heart is like this for me too and the yarn under seems to of corrected it

Going down a hook size might help. It doesn’t seem like you’re over stuffing, but sometimes that might open up the stitches too much. Try to be mindful of your tension as you close up.

I agree the use of a smaller hook, yarn under, and invisible decreases should all help.

So should I use a 4 or 4.5? I typically use a 4.5

Is this worsted yarn? For worsted yarn I use a 3.5 for amigurumi, but my tension is fairly loose. You could try a 4 and see if it helps.

Yes this is worsted weight yarn. But in my set I don’t have a 3.5.
