Doilies

I want to try and crochet a doily but can’t find any free patterns that I like. Does anybody have any recommendations for free doily patterns?

Gemma Owen has quite a few on Handy Hands.

I’ve made most of them. They’re very well written.

The spectacular ones are the antique patterns. You can find those just through Google. There’s purple kitty, free antique crochet, and antique crochet pattern library to name a few

If this is your first time, you’ll want to start with something simpler. This is one of the most basic I’ve made. The best part is that it’s a free pdf! It wouldn’t be a bad idea to use the recommended size three thread for your first try, but if you already had size ten or had your heart set on using it, that would be fine too. Here are a couple I made.

When I searched a while back I had saved these links to look through and try (although I haven’t had time yet lol), perhaps it could help you too!

If you haven’t yet crocheted with thread you can crochet it with yarn and use a larger crochet hook just to get used to the stitches used

And yes, I kept this as a draft FOREVER. As you may have been aware, the GIF feature was temporarily down, and I NEEDED this one. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
