Dollar Tree yarn??

Hi guys! So I am kind of broke :joy: so I’m looking for cheap yarn. I’ve seen people get good yarn from the Dollar tree, but I need to know if it’s really worth it and if it’s good quality yarn. Does anyone know about this? Has anyone got in yarn from the Dollar tree? And last question, is it worth it?

I use it a lot as a thin chenille. Is fairly easy to work with. Sheds a fair amount, but not more than other chenilles. I have recently invested in the cones of this same yarn through Premier Yarn partly due to having more color selection than I can find in my local dollar trees

I’ve gotten dollar store yarn a few times, and sometimes it’s TERRIBLE but sometimes it’s actually good! I can usually tell by looking at it or feeling it. It’s almost always worth it tho bc it’s so cheap

I really like dollar tree yarn, and they just started carrying five dollar skeins called “pound of love”

I recently picked up some worsted yarn there and seemed to be better quality than before

I really like their chenille yarn, it’s affordable and it’s a decent yarn. But whenever I go to Dollar Tree, they only have 4 colors. Last time I went they only had hot pink, light pink, orange, and green chenille yarn. The time before that they only had brown, light blue, light pink, and yellow. They never have a good selection, but hey, at least it’s cheap.

Exactly! Not a big color selection and changes each time I go. A lot of stores in my area seem to not be stocking much lately

Dollar tree yarn imo is worth it if it’s a small project because they never have full sized skeins. Another option I recommend is checking on fb marketplace or OfferUp! People are always selling huge amounts of yarn for cheap or even free.

The only thing with dollar tree yarn is that they usually only have eyelash stuff in stores. I’ve gone probably about ten times looking for yarn and if they had anything else other than eyelash, it was either tangled in knots beyond repair or very very dirty.

I’ve never checked dollar tree for yarn. Michaels and Joann’s fabrics are usually where I go first. We are also near a Walmart so I look there whenever we go there.

Yes, I’ve use it to crochet a sweater by MJ Off the Hook and it turned out great.

I honestly loved the Premier worsted yarn (which you can buy at Dollar tree). I’ve also tried the dollar store chenille yarn and wasn’t as impressed, but I still think it’s worth it if you don’t want to spend $10 for a skein
