Y’all I’m done with esty, why so many scam patterns!? Im pretty sure I just got scammed. It was 2.75 it was on sale, I got the wrong pattern and I messaged them and the way they talked, didn’t seem right. I looked at their profile didn’t seem right. And I reverse image searched, and I’m pretty sure they’re selling other peoples patterns, even free patterns for money. ;-; if you guys buy things on esty you have to like spend an extra 25 minutes looking at the details or something idk ;-; I usually can tell right away, but the image was not ai, so I didn’t really think twice.
You really have to make sure it’s fake, it sucks. I found a whole account filled with AI patterns.
Definitely;-; it’s so not cool. I guess it was only 2.75. Im glad it wasn’t more. Good thing is ribblr is easier to trust plus would probably be difficult to like to fake a pattern for it.
Like it wasn’t a problem until I think this year.
The seller gave me the right pattern, but I’m pretty sure it was a free pattern and they’re like reselling it. Their page is very odd, so yeah.
I understand your pain. While I haven’t been personally scammed on Etsy, I do have friends who have. Etsy has really gone downhill. So much so they now allow people to post AI art for sale. I’ll leave a link below for folks to check out. The only stipulations is that the user must use an “original prompt” and they have to say that it is AI.
That and their seller fees have gotten astronomical, and they also aren’t really doing anything about the scam sellers or drop shippers. I know of content creators who sell on Etsy who have had their listings pulled because a scam shop stole their images and posted it as if it were their own to sell a fake product. I no longer sell there because of all this combined.
So long are the glory days of Etsy being the go to “handmade for you” online market. Now it seems to have become, or is becoming, a safe haven for scammers, drop shippers, and AI. I unfortunately don’t know of other places outside of Ribblr, Raverly, and Pinterest.
