hey people!
I have a question:
if you double-strand weight 3 yarn does it become weight 4?bc I just got a yarn haul and I realized that my pastel purple yarn (favorite color
) is weight 3 and everything else is weight 4 T^T
and I can’t go return it

This chart might help:
You could also try comparing the thicknesses of the weight 3 double stranded vs single strand weight 4, using wraps per inch.

According o ChatGPT, it should be something very close to weight 4, but the measurement it’s off by is too small to notice

I would make a swatch to make sure how big/small it will be
It depends on what you are making as to whether how big / small it will be really matters. For clothing, it matters. For plushies, maybe not so much

I wouldn’t necessarily go off of ChatGPT for answers about yarn weight, they’re constantly mistaken about even the simplest of questions.
