effects of unpublishing a pattern?

This may have already been explained but I was wondering, if I were to unpublish or remove patterns from my shop would it effect people who have bought those patterns?

The way I understand it just makes it unavailable for sale until published again.

from what I understand, even if you remove the pattern from the platform, the purchased pattern data is still there
Unpublishing a pattern also does not remove the wishlist function. Once you republish the pattern, the wishlist pops back up undisturbed

well, it does change the pattern they have, it just doesn’t take it away from them
