Ok, so for those who are not familiar with what the sweater curse is:
Term used by knitters and crocheters to describe the belief that if a knitter or crocheter gives a hand-knit sweater to a significant other, it will lead to the recipient breaking up with the knitter.
Has anyone experienced the curse? I almost did in the past and unraveled the whole thing.

Not with sweaters, but with stuffies. Both of the guys that I made stuffies for no longer want anything to do with me. Could be because I chose to make them stuffies instead of something more ‘manly’

I gave my husband, who is very masculine ( think cowboy boots, chain saw, carpenter, builder) , a huge tiger stuffie one year. He LOVED it!
Granted at the time, we already married 18 years.

The right guy will come along, don’t settle for a non productive male.

Very late to this but wanted to add mine. I made a good omens themed sweater for my partner and regarding the curse all odds were stacked against me. I decided to make it when we were not official, tried to make it for them for Christmas but started too late. I made something else and waited until their birthday to finish it which was in June and gave it to her.
She loves it and wears it all the time and we are still happily together. Soo all ended up going well. I have also made a valentine’s snake and a leaf bag (backup Christmas gift) that they love a lot as well. I did think about the sweater curse tho while I was making it and it added a layer of superstition through the process. Otherwise unaffected.
