Faux Fur Fabric

Hi all! I don’t often post in the Sewing space, as I am not the greatest sewer, but I do like to try my hand at making sewn plushies from time to time. And just the other day, I found the perfect pattern to make plushies of my wolf characters from a comic book I have been writing!

There is just one issue, though… faux fur fabric is seriously expensive! Especially longer fur.

So my question is, where do you buy your fur fabric? What is a good price for fur fabric? And what should I know before I try sewing with it?

A fluffy polyester throw blanket from Ross or somewhere else like a thrift store gives a fluffy furry feel depending how long you want the faux fur

I get all my stuff from local stores but I’m in Australia so I’m very sorry but I can’t help. Actuallym if you give me what length pile you want (how many mmm long you want the pile, look it up with examples) then I might be able to help you

I have not used faux fur yet, but I’ve heard not to cut it through with scissors. Instead use a razor blade on the non fur side or use baby snips with your scissors as seen here:
