Faux fur yarn 😤 (seriously tho I need help)

Ok I’m gonna go insane, the faux fur yarn I got is way too think and I want to split it into smaller strands because you can separate the yarn into three separate strands…but I can’t find a efficient way to split the yarn without it putting itself into a knot or twisting back together again :sob:

if anyone can help I would really appreciate it because I really want to use this yarn! :smiling_face_with_tear:

This is what I’m using

I wanna make a fluffy cow :japanese_ogre:

i dont think theres a non time consuming way to do this, since i had to unravel yarn recently too. but ill explain how i did it.

i manually unraveled it first, then started my project using the 1 strand. then i used a stitch marker to keep the project from pulling back out when i continue to undo it.

the way i figured out is to hold the 3-strand-end in one hand, then 2 of the strands in the other(project strand is not held). then you swing the project around the yarn that you are holding in the direction that it is twisted.

i hit my face multiple times with the project, but it didnt knot or twist back together again.

lmk if its understandable, because idk how to explain it properly :skull::skull:

Ive made loads of fluffy things using that yarn and its so annoying. TBH i just gave up on separating it cause i had the same problem. The way it works up isnt actually too thick

This yarn stressed me out, but I made a chicken out of it. I didn’t think to try to separate the strands
