Fave Christian Artists/Songs?

Music and crafting just seem to go together. I feel like both of these things can be used to give praise to God and reflect His glory.
I find that Christian music has really fueled a lot of creativity in me, whether it’s drawing, typography, or fiber arts.

Right now I’m really into :heart:Blessing Offor , a blind Christian singer/songwriter who has a great soul sound and reminds me of The Weeknd. I also love  Lauren Daigle , who has just dropped a fresh new self-titled album and is adding a 2nd volume in September! Other artists I really like right now are Benjamin William Hastings, Johnathan Traylor and Ryan Ellis.
On the crafty side, I totally play these two in the background, because I feel like their soul style and uniqueness really pull out my own, and it helps me to use my hobbies to worship God.

What artists inspire you and keep you in the moment with God?

My mom and I LOVE her music!! I love her style so much.

We just got her new cd last week, and she’s coming out with Vol. 2 on September 8, (which is actually the day before her birthday and 3 before mine :open_mouth: ). You can pre-order it though

Same; I love her Louisiana soul influences and her colorful style! She reminds me a lot of myself, for fashion taste and quirkiness  she is a wonderful songwriter

OMG I really think you have to be related to me somehow!! I turn up those songs when I hear them  I haven’t heard some of them, but I will totes give 'em a listen

“Jesus Jams” sounds so cool!! That would go perfect with my notebooks I write my Bible notes and prayers in…I call them my “Jesus Journals” we seriously have to be related, no joke.
My mom and I listen to a lot of Christian music together, so we love Zach Williams, Lauren Daigle, Blessing Offor, Maverick, Phil Wickham, Brandon Lake, Jordan Feliz, all those artists    It’s because of her that I grew up on old school Tmac, like"Welcome to Diversity" and “Momentum”; his music has always been there in my life and still is. I’ll never forget seeing him perform at Winter Jam one year; I went crazy

I absolutely love We The Kingdom and Cain, too. When I hear “God Is On The Throne”,I go to boogie town  Cain has a southern style, which appeals to me since I live in the southeast part of the US. I love David Crowder and Rhett Walker, too.

My mom actually found a cool Christian rapper named Zauntee. He can sing really well and can write. a. JAM.
I recommend “Since Jesus Called My Name” “God Taught Me” and my personal fave, “Oxygen:heart: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:  Idk how you feel about rap or hip-hop, but totally try those songs out; they are so heart-felt and real.

I just love how there are so many great artists that give God the glory :raised_hands:
I also like vintage 70s Jesus Movement era music. There’s rock, like Larry Norman, traditional gospel, like The Imperials, and hippies-gone-Christian, like Love Song, Mustard Seed Faith, Petra and Resurrection (Rez for short).

Music is really important to me in my walk with God. I was a heavy metal rocker and had a lot of problems with lust and vanity. But in 2019, God saved me. I burned hundreds of dollars worth of music and band merch. The evening I sacrificed all of that, the song “Raise A Hallelujah” played on my dad’s radio, and I saw clouds that looked like angels flying in the sky!! That’s when I KNEW God was smiling
About a year later, God taught me about The Jesus Movement. I sacrificed all the rock and metal I had once worshipped, and God gave me rock, folk rock, and metal that glorifies HIM!! That’s why music means so much to me.

Through music, God has taught me what it means to be known and FULLY loved by Him. He’s even shared songs with me to show me how much He understand me, like this one from Keith Green:

“Like wakin’ up from the longest dream, how real it seemed, until Your Love broke through. I was lost in a fantasy, that blinded me, until Your Love broke through.” - Your Love Broke Through, Keith Green

I didn’t realize how lost I truly was. Today, I’m still single, but I know God is preparing me for the man He wants me to be with. Until then, I’m totally, 777%, immensly in love with God and always will be

"It’s in the empty tomb, it’s on the rugged cross; Your death-defying Love is written in Your scars. You never quit on me, You’ll always hold my heart, 'cause that’s the kind of God You are. "-We Are Messengers

Wow! That’s crazy we really do must be related! I mean we are sisters in Christ! I love listening to worship music with my mom too! And I’ll definitely give those songs and artists a listen!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story!! It’s so nice to see others who also have a huge heart for God!:two_hearts:

I know!! Absolutely, and I’m thankful for how God’s created us all to be a family.

That’s awesome  There’s nothing like riding in the car with or cooking with your mom and turning up the worship music and having a blast! You will not be disappointed; you’ll get total chills on those Zauntee songs if you’re like me (^^)

Anytime! I share it any chance I get; I mean, God seriously changed my life and showed me how to live in a completely new way. I guess Mary Magdalene on The Chosen says it best:

“I was one way, now I am completely different. And the thing that happened in between was Him.”

I know there’s a lot of people that deal with vanity and seeking for love in all the wrong places, and how painful it is; so when I share my story, I feel God has given me the tools to help them see how loving He really is. People tend to think God isn’t capable of intimate love, but His kind of love goes so far, we cannot even understand. It’s deeper than the oceans, higher than mountains, stronger than anything. It’s totally dependable. It doesn’t take a huge amount of work to earn it, it’s totally free.

God showed me that there is no single man or person in my life that can truly love me the exact, precise way He does.

I love the chosen! This quote of hers always moves me to my soul. She had such a hard past. Seeing her change completely to who God made her to be, and living so faithfully to Jesus. I always really related to that. :two_hearts:

Saaaame! We’re twinnin’ XD

Yeah, I love how they wrote her story. I was getting into Jesus Music right as soon as we found The Chosen, and that first episode was like so anchoring to me. I felt that I was Mary, and Jesus was holding me when I came back to him  She is such a relatable character for so many people, on so many levels! God has really helped Dallas and his team with the show; I’m in constant prayer for them

Btw, have you seen the 3rd season yet??? My mom and younger brother went with me to see it in the theaters, and I’m telling you, I felt like I was back in the first century with Jesus and His disciple :open_mouth:

I really wanted to see it in theaters, but my theater wasn’t showing it sadly. I have seen the whole 3rd season though and it was incredible! I felt the same way!!

Oh man, sorry you couldn’t see it! We had to drive about an hour away to see it though.

Season 3 Spoilers!!

Both my mom and I cried tears of pure joy when we saw the last episode!! I will never forget seeing Peter walking on the water and Jesus catching him…and when he says “don’t let me go! Please don’t let go” when he’s holding onto Jesus. I wept, I really did; and he didn’t let go even when they were in the boat! Then Jesus said “I won’t let you go.” Man, I have been there with God before. I don’t care what century those disciples were in, they’re so relatable.

That show just really hits

I have some I like too, that I can post later but right now I’m about leaving as fireworks are about to start here ( just got a couple a little while ago ) and it gets ugly for me ( seizures ). But I’d like to suggest the group ONE VOICE CHILDREN’S CHOIR. They are no longer very young children as they’ve been together for a few years now but they have some super amazing things, not only Gospel, but very inspiring. They are ALL Christian lead by a Christian conductor. “Glorious” was the first song I heard them singing and I have loved them since then.

as the daughter of the program director of a christian radio station, i have a list too long to count! it being summer, i am currently cranking Christian hiphop/rap as well as so. much. worship music. here are some that come to mind:

WALK ON WATER by Elevation Rythmn

all of PEABOD’s music, currently playing Better than Nostalgia on repeat. (i actually had supper with him once, he shared his cheese curds with me. great guy!)

Graves into Gardens is a classic!

if you want a laugh, look up Jesus is a Friend Of Mine by Sonseed on youtube. this was an actual song and i often play it on spotify. the first time you hear it, however, you must watch the video.

all of CAIN’s music (i saw two CAIN concerts in one day once! i could have talked with them as they were right next to me at some point, but i chickened out. next time the opportunity arises, i shan’t waste it.)

so many others come to mind, but i don’t want to bore you any more, haha. but don’t be afraid to ask me if you want CCM suggestions, i am more than happy to help you out!!
