hi everyone!
im a beginner crocheter, started this year on the first week of january and i’ve already crocheted a lot. i have tension (somewhat) figured out for other sizes of yarn but when it comes to filet crocheting i’ve been having problems (english isn’t my first language so i’m sorry if this isn’t understandable enough):

if i foundation chain losely the project looks too wide and spaced out, but if try to be a little tighter i physically cannot enter any stitch with my hook

when i crochet under a stitch the whole of the tension of the wip just… goes away? like if i double crochet in another dc even if i tried to be as tight as possible with that dc that i first put in it becomes WAYYY too loose and i have to redo the entire row
if anyone that does filet knows how to keep a steady tension, how to hold the yarn etc etc, and wants to help me i’d be really grateful
