I have an Etsy shop and with every order, I gave a freebie with it. I would make another keychain that was a heart made with the same yarn that the order keychain was made with. Those hearts, I realized, not everyone might like and also ngl they were not of the best quality (despite being free). I haven’t gotten an order in quite a while, so I want to change things up a little with my freebies. If you have ideas for freebies, please let me know.
Personally I only like edible freebies as customer because if it was my taste I would order the thing. I have so many unwanted little gifts. I hate them because they’re loved by the seller but I’ve never wanted them. I can’t get rid of them because I got emotionaly attached. I can’t even gift them because they’re not the best quality either. They’re just making me sad
I sent catnip sticks with my pet portrait orders. Cats love them, therefore customers love them.
You can buy some little snacks to send with your order like candy, wafer etc. It should be something they would absolutely want or get rid of easily.
Personally for me a slip of paper with an excited thank you for your order, support small biz etc is enough. If you wanted to be fancy you could make it a shape like heart or circle (smiley), or abstract using scrapbooks scissors.
It is probably because I feel bad having the maker spend time and money when the margin to make a profit is so slim.
Sweets, lollies and candies have long “used by/best before” dates, so won’t go bad in the mail. You may need to restrict such items to your own country however due to the regulations in different countries etc.
