Hey everyone. How would you get more testers for your patterns? Bc I have one that has been out for 3 days and it only has one tester. And another of mine had 2 testers but one of them ghosted. Any ideas? Here is the link for testing if you’re interested. I also tagged self promo bc I’m not sure if this counts.
Hello I find it is always good to post in the main groups like general chat and craft talk, and then tag a lot of people that you know. If you don´t know anybody, just go into the chats and see who is very active and tag them. Hope you get more testers!

I want to start by saying sometimes people just don’t see it or they have already committed to other tests. I have had a few patterns that got 1 application. What I did was wait a couple weeks and reposted and ended up with much more.
I don’t suggest tagging people unless they specifically ask to be tagged because a lot of people do not like it and has caused drama in the past. Posting a link in the craft chat can help though. You can also advertise your call on other sites like Instagram and Facebook.
Make sure you have good quality photos where the item is clear and well lit. Post a photo of multiple angles if possible (2D items only really need 1).
Finally, if all else fails, publish the pattern without it being tested. You can always put a note in your pattern to message you with any issues ![]()
Hi, I hope you don’t mind me sharing my view about testing. When I request to be a tester, I usually look for photos that clearly convey the idea behind the pattern, not in terms of photo quality but in showing the result in a way that is immediately understandable. Sometimes it is not easy to see what the pattern is meant to be from a single photo, and in those cases I usually don’t apply. I hope this doesn’t come across as too harsh.
Tbh, testing is hard in my opinion. If you’re not super popular, it’s not easy getting many testers, but if you interact in the community, maybe make some friends, you could get a bit more testers/atleast some engagement. Hope it helped atleast a bit!
I had couple of occasions where there were very few testers applied, I find that
a) the post itself is at the very bottom, so someone log in to look at posts they will need to continue scrolling down till they come across mine. (Like already read through 20+) I tried to look for my own post after posting the call for couple of hours without testers applying.
b) while there is a tester call section in the feed, only few posts are shown there, I know mines were never shown.
c) you can try to respond to you post which will (hopefully) bump up the post again.
These are just my thoughts, and one of the reasons I don’t do tester calls as often.
