Does going around in a chain cause an extra stitch or two at the end of each round or even just the first few?
Started with a chain 7 sc 6 turn to other side but then there are 2 new stitches on the sides of my rectangle
I want to be sure I’m either counting wrong or that it naturally increases
At this point I need a designated question person
I promise this will be the last question I ask…today

Hmm I don’t think that’s supposed to happen

I always have extra sts at each end, which makes it more oval. Not really sure what you are going for though.

Okay then I must be accidentally adding stitches

How many extra stitches each time? Two?

Not sure how you would get a rectangle. Each end would curl up???
Depends, some have 5 on one end and 3 on the other. Some less.
Are you following a pattern? Or creating one?

I’m trying to write a pattern and the math wasn’t working so I was confused
I’m not looking for a flat rectangle I’m making a head currently and this is the muzzle

I think you would want more in each end then. Try 3 and see what it looks like. Maybe like, Chain 7, (in the 2nd st) 5sc, 3sc in last st, 6sc, inc. (the 6sc, might have to only be 5sc) Gives you an idea anyway.

I’m not gonna lie I have more questions now
What does putting multiple SC in one stitch do?

It’s just an increase, but with 3 not 2. Just play with both and see what works for you.

I’m currently trying to get
12
12
18
For the end stitch count is that no longer gonna work?

I’m not sure. But 12, 12, will make it go up, not out … Sorry, probably not helpful. ;)

No worries! I did that cause it’s a jumbo size, I’ve already made him I’m just testing my pattern and the numbers aren’t lining up

I would do three. If it is DC I would do 4.

I’ve only been using sc I completely forgot about DC it’s just whenever I do them I get weird gaps is there anything you could recommend?

DC is going to have holes since it is a taller stitch, you can’t change that. It is not great for amigurumi but awesome for accessories.
