Grid Crochet

Hey guys! Does anybody know how to make graph crochet (pixel crochet/ tapestry crochet) stiches more square? I alway feel like each pixel doesnt line up right and then it ruins the design, thanks so much for the help!!

Hi, waistcoat stitches instead of sc can help to keep the pixels lined up. I made this beanie using waistcoat stitches for the graph part:

Thanks! It worked well for crocheting in the round. If you’re using turning rows, I recommend combining it with this technique:

By using this every 2nd row, all the little "V"s end up on the right side.

The size hook you are using can also affect the squareness of your stitches, although I do not know if that is your issue. I alway use a G 4mm hook, personally

yeah!! i found this super cool stitch recently that makes your stitches look really square. here’s a vid on how to do it

and here’s a post on reddit abt it with some more information :DD

color changes work the same way, (pull through last stitch with new color) and the odd rows aren’t as hard as they look, i promise!
