Question: if you do, HOW DO YOU READ YOUR BIBLE EVERY DAY genuinely curious bc after like two months I just kinda… stop
Uhhhh I kinda just give up too…
Like I need- and want!- to read it I just… can’t form the habit
i physically cant
one thing ive found helps is coming at it from an atheist’s perspective
you know what you already know
so now you’re going in and asking questions
every single thing that pops into your head
WRITE IT DOWN
multi-colored sticky notes and highlighters are your best friend
hope this helps, feel free to ask questions
also, adhd, yknow, exists, its harder to form habits, unfortunately
Ugh yes. Still dealing with a picking habit I’ve dealt with since childhood
How would I categorize the colors??
For a while I did not but instead of getting on and Ribblr- YouTube I just strictly get on my Bible app. And make sure it’s the first thing I do
I’d love to but I do not have the brain power in the mornings before school to read my Bible. . . or anything for that matter
for me, i have 2 different colors: one for thoughts, and one for questions. but, if you want to make sure you hyperfocus
, ive seen people who have a different color each time there is:
- mvder
- god talking to ppl
- prophecies
- explaining families (and, if you find this boring, making a family tree to see whole lines of ppl is suprisingly fun)
- etc
picking a couple of these helps keep me focused when i just… cant, but the first 2 still help keep things tidy :]
ALSO, if you dont want to highlight/write in your book, oml, transparent sticky notes are so cheap and are just
muah chefs kiss
i feel that
I already highlight stuff that just like… sticks out to me… in the same color that I use for church/youth
Yeah I totally understand everyone’s schedules are different maybe you could get a app and read on the way to school or listen on the way to school or while your getting ready.
thats good! also, on the topic of church/youth, having 2 seperate bibles helps some people, so you can keep your personal and group thoughts seperate :]
That’s really smart
its not even schedules, its just adhd brain
Here’s another snag in that plan: I can’t bring my phone to school
somber nod
Well ya know just the way you do things not really schedules. Sorry
I for a long time had trouble not reading my Bible consistently too. But recently all I want to do is read my word. I recommend finding a Bible plan or devotional that you can use each morning as a jumping off point. Getting a pretty Bible that you will want to use, fun highlighter colors. I also know it’s hard and I’m still working on this, but reading your Bible in the morning is some other kind of fulfillment. I promise you it’s unlike reading your Bible any other time of day.
