Happy International Crochet Day!

Hi everyone!

It seems like there is a holiday for everything out there but luckily, crochet has gotten it’s limelight and September 12th is Crochet Day!

So I wanted to ask, what are YOU working on right now? Let me and Ribblr know down below in the comments section (with photos if you can!) what you’re working on and what crochet means to you!

It’s been a complete life changer for me. I appreciate what it has done for my mental health as well as giving my hands something to do! It’s given me a sense of “purpose” which means so much to me. And I have been able to meet so many amazing people through it, especially in the Ribblr community!

Would love to hear any and all your thoughts too!

Best,
Vincent (@knot.bad)

I never knew that today was National Crochet Day!! That is so cool!!! Currently, I am working on a horse for my little brother to give to his teacher. But, I just finished a macaw for my little cousin, I am so excited to give it to him!

I love how you are open about how crochet has helped you in life, that is really inspiring! I completely agree, the Ribblr community is so welcoming and kind. I never thought something as simple as yarn and some needles could bring so many people together!

Crochet wise I’m working on some home decor items, just finished making a small placemat , but I am currently knitting today lol  here’s the finished photo at steam blocking it

Crochet has also been a life changer for me, it’s helped me a lot with giving me something to do besides just sleeping my days away. If I’m being honest it’s also rekindled my love for the arts, as before crochet I was painting and drawing often which I haven’t done in awhile but definitely made me remember how much I love creating not just with yarn but others too! Not only am I crocheting I’m going back to old and new hobbies I enjoy and learning a lot!

Testing a new Letodoll so no pictures to share. You will love him though.

I think the theme of crochet / knit helping us is awesome. I had a mini stroke 20 years ago. I used to be good with technology / memory but not so much now. I am getting better though. I also give the credit to crochet. I learned to read patterns after, and I am certain that is what helped me improve. Keep learning. It’s good for the brain. And for me, crochet is good for the heart.

I’m working on Ribblr’s Snow man slippers!!

I absolutely love crocheting. Being able to create something - whether it’s useful or just a cute thing to have - is such a fulfilling hobby.
Seeing it all come together one stitch at a time, having your hands busy, and all the possibilities of what to make are endless. You can never get bored! Plus, the crocheting community is so sweet and kind. Everyone is willing to help each other and support each other’s ideas.:sparkles:
