hat shape

I crocheted this baby cowboy hat, and I need help on ways to get it to hold its shape and make it sturdier. The pattern said to use 2 strands of yarn to hold its shape and be sturdy, which I did, but it still doesn’t hold its shape very well and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to make it better?

You can use an even smaller crochet hook! Just be careful cus it will be harder on your wrists. You can also triple your yarn to make it thicker but keep your hook size on the smaller side either way!

You can buy fabric stiffener that might work?

I would try Premier Bulky a #5 weighted yarn with a size smaller hook. My work is usually pretty stiff with any weight yarn and a smaller hook like mentioned earlier.
