Hdc amigurumi help

Help ;-;

I’m trying to make a pattern using the HDC. \stitch to help it work up faster and to add a bit of uniqueness.

So ensure the piece has a flat belly.

So I Slst at the end of each row,
1- do I ch2 2 or ch 1 for the hdc?
2- does the ch2/1 count as a stitch for the stitch count?

I think ch 1 would be best because it will keep it nice and tight, and it’s up to you whether the ch counts or not

I thought it was 1 sc + 1 ch… or is that double? It’s 1 sc + 1 ch, I’m pretty sure

I personally do ch2, but I chain tightly. And the slst+ch doesn’t count towards your st count, its using the joined round method (at least that’s how I’m understanding this) and you don’t work into the slst or chs so they don’t count.

For hdc i normally chain one but i find i have a loose tension

I prefer to not count it as a stitch, and I like to ch 2 as well.

Maybe this can help ?

I usually ch 1 and don’t count it as a stitch. I’ve found that a second chain adds unnecessary extra bulk, but if you wanted to count it as a stitch then you would need to ch 2 and work into the 2nd ch at the end of the next rnd (counting it as a stitch can potentially create gaps in your work, though).

I would google standing stitches. This might help. I use standing stitches a lot in my work.
