Help me decipher this bat wing!

I’m making a bat from a pattern on here and I’m confused on how to finish the wing. I’m stuck on the step of folding it in half and stitching through both sides— how should I fold it? Up until this step I have a circle (6 rounds), the second to last round is 40st and the last round is an incomplete 30st before folding in half.
—What I’m confused about is that after the fold, if I’m counting correctly, I’m supposed to stitch 23(?) stitches before closing and tying off. I don’t know where to put them because when folded directly from the last stitch done, I think I’d be going about halfway across and then I don’t understand why that last row was left incomplete. If I fold to the starting stitch of the round I have 30 stitches to fill (with the 23) or the other way only 10.
Does anyone understand this that can explain it to me? Screenshotted just the two steps I’m stuck on so you can also read it.

*****edited to crop. If anyone wants a link to the pattern I will send it so you can support the OP. (It’s free for followers I believe)

I can’t say for sure since I don’t have the pattern, but just in case you haven’t, have you contacted the designer for help? There should be a button in the pattern that’ll say contact designer or something similar

Funnily enough I found that button shortly after making this post. I’ll send them a message and test my luck there. If I have no luck I’ll be back!

No problem! Hopefully they can answer your questions, although it could take some time for the designer to reply with different time zones(if there is)/busy schedule

Thanks for the link. Here’s what my wing looks like:

I folded mine with the 30th sc at the front of the fold. Then i crocheted the remaining slst and sc i mentioned up above up the back of the folded part, and i think that might be where you sew if im right?!
I would probably check with the designer first though unless it takes them long to respond.

You’re amazing for doing this, thank you so much! I’ll keep waiting for a response from the creator of the pattern but if all else fails this is what I’ll be doing!

I know a few others have already commented and you messaged the designer (hours ago, i know i just didnt wanna let my time be gone for nothing), but i just wanted to input my opinion lol. So i went ahead and got the pattern and made the wing, and i think i have it mostly figured out. So firstly, it needs to be folded in half so we crochet through two layers at once (so there are 20 stitches to work with now) I personally skipped the very first stitch(the last one that you crocheted) just because its hard to work into and in this case it makes the end result a bit easier to achieve.
So what i did was i put the 2dc into the same stitch to create an increase. That way, i had ten in the first part, then nine in the second part, leaving one stitch left over ( you can just add an extra sc or leave it alone cause it doesnt affect it too much).

UPDATE: the creator of the pattern replied and has helped me figure out the problem! They said there should be 3slst for both the last steps and updated the pattern to show this.
—Sooooo if anyone wants to give it a try I highly suggest you do so because it’s adorable and pretty easy (and that’s coming from a beginner).
