I think I failed miserably at this keychain. Le sigh. How can I attach it better to the clip part? My brain just doesn’t work that way sometimes and I’m at a loss.
I will try again, but I think this is a learning one that I will use and not sell.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks on what I can do better on this? Should I stuff the lemon a bit?
Any help on this type of keychain/clip and how to properly attach is greatly appreciated! Help me turn my failure into a success!

the best way is to start at the clip
3-5 sc around clip, pullup loops across those stitches and then yo and pull through all at once like a cluster.
It’s an odd shaped clip your choosing. Might be the difficulty you’re having. If you want the crochet to go over it like your pic I think granny has the best way. If you’re not set on it being like that you could do a long ch or SC stack and treat it the way you used to loop phone charms to old phones. -if I’m not the only one who remembers those.-
Ones I’ve seen people do usually create an anchor on the crochet piece itself similar to how like amigurimi nose or mouth is done and then attach the ring or chain to it.
Depends what look you want.
Hmm what if you crochet it so instead of the tips being top and bottom it’s left and right? Essentially rotating it so the half circle part is down and the flat/bottom part of that semi half circle is what’s connected to that keychain part? The gif I put might seem random but it’s essentially the angle I was saying lol
either way, it can still have the join done the way I said earlier so that it’s sturdier, then make the res of it anyway you like
okay this is gonna be so hard to explain! but i would chain like a really long chain and then slip st in the lemon to make a loop. then you put the loop the loop like in the hole of the keychain and put the object through the loop… does that make sense? look at this tutorial and just think as if the beads are the lemon and the loop is your chain loop.
