It may help to add a little positive ease, room to move around, into your measurements, if your chest circumference is 27 inches, doing the sweater at exactly 27 inches may make it a little tight and may slide up with each move you make, be uncomfortable. You may want to make it 29 inches instead of 27 to free up some movement space.
Im no good with calculations for clothing (yet) but I like the sea/citrus idea! (I also like the :( next to where you wrote “math” lol) Anyways since you need help with design too I think, I made a pallet for you based on a vibrant coral reef :)
