ooh, good luck!

i feel like 13 days might be doable, depends how much time you have :sob::sob:

Well, your squares are quite large so that helps. It’s faster to crochet the squares than all the sewing together part. Especially when you have tons of squares

As someone says, it also depends on how much free time you have. If you’ll be at work or school all day and have homework, that’s a different thing from being available all day at long.

Also of course how fast a crocheter you are, and if you feel you need to stop and frog parts of it.

But it’ll likely be a push to manage it that fast.

Just to say, I’m currently working on a granny square sweater that I started the end of May (3 months ago). My squares are smaller than yours (each is about 2") and maybe a bit more complicated.

My sweater is in a large size (XL). So lots of little squares but still not as large as a blanket.

I can only work on in it 2-4 hrs a day. But I started mine 3 months ago and I am just finishing the front.

Both the back and front should be done by tomorrow. And then I will STILL have the 2 sleeves to make And all the finishing off.

And I’ve worked on it almost every day with less than 10 days or so off to block some of the squares.

But also your squares look fast yo make, so maybe…

Oh and I almost forgot. LOL

This is my very best advice for you, for future reference. Hope it helps.:slightly_smiling_face:

This is what I always did when I used to have my own business. Of course, owning your own business you need to be able to tell the client exactly when their product will be ready. And it can’t be late if you want a happy client and repeat business.

To estimate how long the work would take, I’d do what you did…estimate how long I think I can do it in . THEN DOUBLE it.

Eg if you think you can make it in 13 days, tell the person you can get it to them in one month.

Then work on it the same way as you would have at the same speed.

I find it always helps to leave time for Murphys Law (you know the one…
Whatever can go wrong will). Things don’t always go smoothly, you need to factor in time for the unexpected.

If you’re nor pressed for time, for one thing, your work will be better. If one day you’re overtired or headachy you can take that day off, instead of pushing through and likely making more mistakes than you would have if you could rest as needed.

It’s not a race. You’re making something thats going to be cherished by a loved one. The quality matters more than how fast it gets finished.

When you do this 3 things happen:

  1. If things take longer than you expected the other person is completely unphased by ut as they were not expecting it yet anyway.
  2. If you do get it ready before the time you told them to expect it, the other person is overjoyed. They weren’t expecting it yet so it feels like a unexpected gift to them. You can tell them then that you knew it was important to them so you got it ready ahead of schedule (all if which is of course true) They then feel your caring for them.
  3. You yourself are less stressed throughout the process, and enjoy it a lot more.

That us my advice, such as it is.

When estimating how long it will take to make something for someone…make your best estimate, double the amount of time and tell them it will be ready then.

This may or may not apply to this situation, but I hope it’s still useful to you in some way.

Oh my, those are big squares LOL. Each of mine is like half the size of the palm of my hand.

I’m sure you’ll do it in time too then
