Helpful Crochet Tool!

This is super random…… but, you’ve probably seen the trick going around where people put beauty blender sponges on their crochet hooks so that their hand won’t cramp up as bad from gripping the hook. I don’t have a problem with that but I tend to grip my work/project with my left hand really hard (I hold my hook in my right hand). So it’s my left hand that cramps up. Not my right.
First, I’m curious if anyone else struggles with this problem?
Second, I think I found a solution. It’s kind of silly and not the most conventional… but I found a ping pong ball and thought I’d try holding it with my left hand while crocheting to see if it would help me loosen my grip and keep me from pinching my work too tight. Turns out it works! Thoughts?

I never would have thought of that! I’ll try it as soon as I get my hands on a ping pong ball! I just worry that I’d drop it.

Yea! It takes a second to get the right hold of it + your yarn but it’s definitely worth trying.

Oh I love this idea!
My pinkie and ring finger gets numb with pins and needles .
I’ve been trying to hold my projects differently ( like holding my pinkie out or like this :love_you_gesture:) but it’s a hard habit to break.

That happens to me all the time! Lately I’ve been crocheting more than usual and I keep having to stop and try to reposition my left hand because my thumb/the side of my hand keeps cramping. I’m definitely going to try this later, thanks!
