Hey everybody! My name is Abbie and I’m new on Ribblr!
I haven’t crocheted like a madman in years and I really would like to ease back in with some granny squares. Does anyone know of any good granny square patterns (preferably free if possible) that I could use to start crocheting this weekend?
Also bonus—if you know of any good YouTube resources for getting back into crochet, let me know!
I don’t have pictures of my old crochet makes so here’s a hot chocolate I made instead:
When I was going through all my old crochet stuff yesterday, I found a ziploc bag of little daisies I had made years ago that I never turned into granny squares! Maybe this is a sign that I should finally finish them.
Here is a website I found when I was a beginner with a lot of granny square patterns including basic ones plus creative one like animals and lots of different flowers. All of the patterns have step by step photos so it’s very easy to follow
For ribblr, the granny squares I see that are good is the good ones by Unique patterns | Woololocrochet | Ribblr It’s already been linked here, they are paid though.
The verdict is in—after browsing multiple patterns & Pinterest tutorials, I just finished my first granny square since about 5-6 years ago! Once I figured it out, the muscle memory kicked in. I’m so excited! My husband was watching me from the couch and looked over and said, “Whoa! You’re finishing that so fast!” (He’s extremely supportive and is the biggest reason why I’m reviving all my old hobbies.)
Thanks for the tips & pattern suggestions for those who offered them! I will be going through them soon and hopefully trying out some new ones to combine together into a blanket in the next few months
