I think joanns is the only brick and morter that still carries red heart in any significant way. Or am I confused on that one? Either way, it’s getting difficult to get good yarn from a good company for a good price with any consistency.
I totally understand that! We just have walmart here or a 2+ hour drive for anything like hobby lobby, etc so I do most of my shopping online for yarn and fabric!
On a sale side note, knitpicks is having their summer yarn sale, so lots of their yarn is 40-50% off…. I may have bought some sock yarn to knit matching socks for my household and let my 4 year old pick which color he wanted us all to match with
I don’t know that I trust them
Everything I have ever purchased from them that was not yarn was garbage and they never refunded me.
Oh no! That’s terrible! I’ve only ever bought yarn from them and only sock yarns since that’s what’s the hardest to find around here!
Lol I just recently loaded up on sock yarn from ice since it is impossible to find around here. I got 48 skeins (50g) of sock yarn for $52 (including shipping and tax) and their sock yarn very much reminds me of the walk a way brand hobby lobby used to carry a long time ago
Wow!! That is awesome! I’ll have to look there! Thank you!
The youtube I suggested has a recent birdie of unboxing her 100 lbs of yarn and describing what it feels like and how much it cost and a little on how to navigate the site. And he’s was shipped to Holland and then Kenya because she couldn’t get it direct and it was still a fraction of the cost of hobby lobby
Ooo I’m going to go look up that video now! Thank you!
I’m glad you got all that, me and my phone are not friends today
Really? When I picked some up my first reaction was the same but when I looked at the yardage the yarn bee tended to have more then the I this brand. Like 275 vs 255, not major but for their average skeins the 50 cent difference doesn’t seem bad. Those fancy hang tag ones though.
When compared around it looked like the same yarn bee colors could be found in the “seconds” skeins which have like double the amount for the same price as either but from the one time I picked up a seconds skein it has flaws - most unnoticeable but a couple spots I ended up snipping the yarn to get rid of the damaged part before continuing. Overall seems like someone got wind people will pay for yarn cause prices can be bonkers. Like when fabrics went through the room because cosplay got popular.
100lbs of yarn oh my.
@CosmikEluminatedC hmm I still see red heart at Walmart sometimes but it does look like they’re pushing to fill up the aisle with their own brand. Joann I think still does red heart…and lion brand I only ever see that one at Joann too.
@SarahOhSew oh dear is it neon?
I can get it at yarn canada online so its ok. You know though when your in a pinch and need say a specific color its more convienient lol
He picked Felici that is self striping in the color night market because it has cyan in it
Closest hobby lobby to me is about 20 miles south of me so I don’t visit it much. Only their own yarn was available the last time I visited. I have Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics and Walmarts much closer to me.
Online I like jimmy beans wool. Even though they aren’t in California I still get it in the mail within 3 to 4 days.
