Hobby lobby yarn sale

There’s currently a sale on all yarn at hobby lobby for 30% off. I believe it’s nation wide and it puts most their yarns around 3.50 a skein. Good for Friday and Saturday, ends Saturday night.

I ran to get a skein I ran out of to a project and of course came home with more then I should have. :scream:

I’m not sure if there’s a tag for this sort of thing, and the tag menu only shows me like 10 options when I know I’ve seen more. :grey_question:

My goodness seems like the whole shop is one sale at least once a month. :heart:Thank you. Normally I stock up on what I need if I catch a sale to stop myself from wandering into craft stores and overspending on things I -dont- need so I’m not there often enough to notice such patterns.

Also thank you for your help with tags, I would have thought things like announcement.to be for staff only.

yeah, I don’t go often, but I do time it for the right week when i do. I have switched to ICE yarns for most of my needs now.
and I think they have ribblr-announcement for their things

I saw you post about them once before and checked it out. I’m not sure what it is but they almost have tooo much stuff. It’s overwhelming! But all in all it’s probably just like hobby lobby or JoAnns yarn section, something about being able to just walk through seems to make it easier to deal with.

they are more like a virtual warehouse, and they only sell in bundles. You need to know what you are looking for before you start and you need to need more than one of it.

Ah a Costco of yarn. I absolutely don’t have the space for that. :no_mouth: My husband would kill me. Thank you for the warning

not really, some bundles are only 2 or 3 skeins, it goes by weight. The bundles could be as little as 100grams or as much as … I forget, I think there were 8 skeins of sock yarn in each bundle and they are maybe 50 grams each? Which 50 grams of sock yarn is one ankle sock, 8 skeins is not crazy

Ah okay so it’s multiples but still project size. That’s cool. Craft store amounts do seem to be kinda random.

there is a youtube video that explains it pretty well… “the secret yarnery” She lives in Kenya and buys once a year. But she has a huge unboxing where she talks about each yarn what it feels like what weight it is and how much it costs

We have a hobby lobby a few mins from my house, but when I go, it seems life they only carry their own brands any more and it gets a little pricy if you want something other than I love this yarn, or the color selection is very small. They just opened a michaels close to my house, but it’s in the back of one of those outdoor malls and walking for 20 mins through the 90+ temps in direct sun for a small selection of riffled through yarn is not my idea of a good time. Joanns usually has a fair selection, but we only have 2 that are less than a 2 hour drive away and neither of them are in safe areas. On a side note, unless you are into quilting or need upholstery work, these are also my only options for fabric. So I tend to shop online for most of my yarn and fabric.

I cannot imagine buying an entire years worth or yarn at a time.

I love this yarn is definitely the biggest selection at mine but they also have a lot of yarn bee which has nicer options, bernat but since Walmart carries them now for 7-8$ it’s too pricey there @13. Then mine carries a lot of ones that are from small makers which is nice but drives me crazy when I can’t get the color again. I don’t do well with the trader Joe’s setup  they also have other branda that I can’t name off the top of my head but recognize the label designs. Our joann’s is also not in a nice area but always 2-3x the price of hobby lobby :face_with_raised_eyebrow::grey_question:

@BEEutifulCreations :grimacing: I hate when that happens. Hard to avoid when it’s somewhere you don’t get to visit often.

@CosmikEluminatedC Do they ship to Canada? I’m pretty sure they honor sales online.

Yarn bee is the hobby lobby brand and over priced for what it is (imo), so I rarely but yarn there any more

Not yet but i have friends who can help me out. I love micheals and all i perfer hobby lobby though. Ive heard joanns is good too but never looked when i lived there. So my go too in the USA right now is Herrschners. I shop online mostly now because walmart and micheals are mostly out of red heart.
