Tester call! CLOSED
Hi everyone I’m looking for one last person to test my Hornet pattern Here are all the info below. If you’re interested, please fill the google form. I’ll contact you by email to send the pattern.
Crochet
Max: 1 tester.
Time limit: until the March 17th 2024.
Difficulty: advanced beginner/ intermediate
Materials:
Yarn in DK: White, black, light grey.
Yarn in fingering weight in pink for the cape.
I used a 2.5mm hook.
Black felt sheet for the eyes and fabric glue to glue them (but you can sew them or needle felt them if you prefer). I do not particularly like crocheted eyes, so please use felt.
I used wire for the legs but it’s optional

I was looking at the Google form and you shouldn’t force your testers to pay if they don’t finish the test.

This might be a bit of a strange opinion but is it not better to force them to pay? They’ve basically just applied to receive a free pattern, if they can’t complete it there should be a penalty surely. This is coming from someone who got ghosted one too many times. Though I do wish there was a better way to regulate this.

I see where you’re coming from, but what if the person who applied knows they can’t finish it for personal or maybe even medical reasons? Then why would they still get charged? @KoalaInDisguise974

yeah i agree with you. especially since someone is offering to test a pattern for you, for free. And these testers have no idea what they are getting in to, it could be the most poorly written pattern, but you’d still charge them for it?
(don’t get me wrong, not saying your pattern has been written bad. it’s just a possibility with all testers.)

About everybody’s concern about forci’g people to pay, I understand that it’s worrying to some, but it ensures that people take this seriously, because I’ve had previous testers doing sloppy work or not giving results back in time with zero warning. And it’s extremely frustrating, especially when you let them know that if anything comes up we can talk about it up to 2 days before the deadline so that we can extend it if 'necessary. The amount of time I give for them to complete the project is long enough, and I’m very open minded and up for discussion (again, I let them know). If anything I’m just protecting myself and my work. If people don’t thi’k they can do it then they simply shouldn’t apply. I only followed what other people do to spare myself negative experiences. I don’t know what else to do. And also, even if my patterns were poorly written, a tester’s task is to say so and help point in the right direction. Again, if people don’t feel up to the task I’m not forcing anyone.
Anyway I’m sorry to have caused all of this. I’ll take the link down. Thank you.
