I’m working on my 1st 5-in-1 pattern bundle on Ribblr, and it’s due to be tested soon. My 5-in-1 bundle is different coloured patisserie bears. The bears are almost identical, except their eyes and colours are different. The cakes they’re carrying are all different to each other, though.
It’s complicated. The thing is, there’s only one bear in my pattern right now (Key Lime Pie Green), along with the 5 desserts. The bear’s yarn colours are available on the list, along with the cakes’/pies’ colours. However, the other 4 bears’ yarn colours aren’t. That being said, is this the best way to create my 5-in-1 bundle, or should the bears have their own separate patterns?
Hmm. I think doing 5 different tester calls is a little much so here’s my idea:
Post a tester call for one bear, then another separate call for all the desserts. If you get 5 testers assign each one with a dessert or make them do all five!
I dunno if this would work, but it was just what came to mind.
You could just list it as MC or 2nd color instead of green, and at the beginning put info saying which colors would be for which bear! For the accessories you can just put them all on the pattern, and just underneath each write which bear it should be used for, otherwise it can be skipped!
You could do both, make the pattern separate and then group in a bundle, unless you meant you’re putting them in the same pattern in which case I like what @Crochetbykaia said. If you’re doing a tester call use the image of all of them and write in the requirements of the tester call for the potential tester to choose what bear they will make that way you know if they read the requirements and get to know what colors/desserts will be tested
Have you done a pattern with different sizes? I wonder if that would work …
I don’t even follow the testing portion of Ribblr, because I am a tester / editor for Letodolls that keeps me busy enough. Along with making my own patterns. But, I do have a young granddaughter that is / will be a professional baker and I think she would love these. So, if you want me to test, you could message me.
What I personally do on patterns like this is on the first line where you say what color to start in I will list all the color options like this:
“Start in green for the key lime bear, yellow for the lemon bear, etc.”
This way you don’t have to duplicate the same pattern X amount of times. I personally find that easier to write and I like not having as much to check/read over
I don’t know if your eyes uses color chnages or embroidery, but the way I writen color changes usually is by putting the new color between {…} or […] so I don’t have to constantly write “color change to colorA”… or even write out the color name constantly. But when I do this and need to say all the color options I can put them all in one info section (like at the beginning of the pattern).
But my personal preference is to have #-in-1 pattern rather than a bundle (I am a little neurotic about how it looks in my shop and just for some reason don’t like the look of having all the patterns separate and then a bundle, drives me nuts )
