how do you make tapestries...

ok so erm ive been very interested in making a tapestry but crochet, so do I just use a grid pattern for them? I know crochets sorta offset, so im not sure if itlll look janky or normal. Would using patterns made for Kandi be better?

Rainbow Domo Pony Bead Patterns | Characters Kandi Patterns for Kandi Cuffs

(example image of kandi pattern) kandi patterns are sorta offset halfway between each round, cuz kandi is made with pony beads , so i had a thought that it may be simular if turned on its side ? but if just pixel art works fine then i guess ill stick 2 that !!

im honestly not sure if the kandi patterns would work or not, but yes pixel art works great! just maybe start off with one that only uses two colors if you’re not really experienced with color changes as it can be a bit hard

I don’t think an offset pattern would work, not unless you maybe used double and single crochets maybe? But I’ve only ever seen single or double crochet patterns for tapestry. Pixel grids are the easiest to understand and would be what I’d recommend for first starting out with tapestry! I hope you have lots of fun trying out tapestry, I’ve made a couple and they’re kind of addicting lol

You’d want to use typical alpha patterns, yes- I’d recommend looking into colorwork! There are tons of tutorials on YouTube
