How long do you need to make a sweater/shirt?

Hey everyone! I am currently designing a sweater/sweatshirt style top and I was wondering how long on average would someone need to complete one so I know how long I should give testers. I am about 70% finished designing it and it has been maybe 5 days. I would personally need 2 weeks but I’m a homebody lol

I could probably finish in a month, depending on how much school work and events I have. If I worked on it nonstop, I could get it done in a week. But school and housework and other aspects of life take time away from crocheting, so a month (or a bit over a month) would probably be good for me persoanlly

I’d say about 4 weeks for a sweater tester call

I would err on longer than shorter times myself. As sweettomato indicated, life events crop up and more time gives people a bit of wiggle room; additionally, it would give people a bit of a buffer if they need to get supplies. Also, as working larger garments can take more time (just by sheer volume of stitches, not factoring speed), if you plan to offer a wider range of sizing (or if m2m), I think it’s always good to give that extra time. Some of it would depend on how complex the pattern is wrt to colorwork or if there are any design elements that make it more challenging (speciality stitches, unconventional construction, etc.) , but I think 6 weeks is probably pretty fair if it’s less complex. Ofc if everyone finishes early, you can always cut the testing short and release early, too. :sparkles:

its going to take a really long time, but it also depends on how much you crochet every day. that’s why you see so many halloween sweaters and stuff out even though it’s still early-- it takes a while!! but good luck!
