Hey guys
So i have a dragon pattern ( currently in testing ) and my testers keep having a problem I dont know how to fix.
So for the construction of the body you make 4 legs then a piece to attach them to and then you work up the body. The problem is that the legs have bbls on one side to represent toes/claws and as there is a long and a short side to the body so they need to be facing a certain way. I added this note in after the first of my testers had the issue
But my other testers are still struggling, because of this it needs more clarification but I dont know how to explain it more. I’m makeing a seconed dragon so if need be I can take more pics.
Thanks for any help

Hm…since you’re making a second dragon, maybe, you can also make some short vids? But they have to be under 10mb I think.

Hm…maybe just how u attached? Like, the placement? Idk also, sorry, but when I had something a bit harder on my pattern, tester suggested it. They didn’t make it like that tho,

Maybe when explaining what way the MR should be facing explain it as a right or wrong side facing up or down instead of trying to explain the tail end and post a picture. You never know what side people pull the tail through. With the right or wrong side explaination there can’t be any questions really except for people that may not know what side is what which will be explained by the picture. I’m assuming that if the appropriate side of MR is facing the right way that it then should be easy enough to distinguish between the short side (where the head will be) vs. the long side (tail). With that then it’s just a given what way the legs/feet should be pointing. Hope this helps. Kind of hard to say for sure without actually being the one looking at the pieces.
I’m also a little confused as to when you want people to attach the legs. At first it sounds like you make the legs, then a connector piece, then attach the legs to the connector so you then can make the body. The last note you have almost sounds like once the body is done they attach the legs because you state to hold up the bodyto make sure they’re on right.

Thank you but that isn’t the problem
like I explain in the post its the leg direction people are struggling with, i think the connecting piece is fine as no one has struggled with it, i used the tail explanation as some people struggle to tell which is the right/wrong side and your tail should be on the inside of amigurumi. The rest of it makes more sense in the pattern and none of my testers struggled with it so I think its fine

Well I tried lol…the beauty of amigurumi is you can always find cool ways of doing things. I never care where my tail comes through. It’s getting woven in anyway and depending on the project the wrong side is oh so right lol. Good luck! Hope you get it figured out soon!

I find the instructions very clear. Adding some photos will definitely help.

Adding images will definitely help. Maybe mention if the front of the body is where the stitch marker would be or if the toes should point away from the start of the rounds.
I am a bit confused when you mention that the tail should be facing up
maybe mention which side is the right and wrong side, and mention which side should be facing up.
And as I mentioned at the beginning, mention if they bbls should face towards or away from the starting point.

I’ve done that technique before! I think having pictures of the round after the first connecting round with the stitch markers in place to help see what it would look like
@littlemisswonderful used it in her highland cow

Maybe try a picture? Sorry, someone probably said it already, but maybe a labeled picture with the cp and the legs in the correct positions, and edit the photo to have like arrows and notes about where they go?
