first, I do my homework. then I give myself the goal of finishing one tester project a day. if I do I work on a personal project for myself. I guess just practicing makes you faster because I’m way faster than when I started two years ago. I hope that helps!

First off, to find more time to crochet YOU have to want to. If it’s JUST because other people want things then it’s not going to happen. That actually causes BAD burnouts. Also if OTHER PEOPLE (especially ppl who don’t crochet are shaming you for not finishing enough projects tell them to do it themselves or smth :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:)

Solution: make more stuff for yourself and don’t let other people dictate what you do with your free time.

If that’s not the problem, it could be you’re wasting time on mindless things, youtube, aimlessly scrolling on Ribblr (i do this :skull:), or random clicker games, that’s not stimulating you and if you’re anything like me will demotivate you for the rest if the day.

Solution: when you have the urge to scroll yt shorts (or the other things) crochet instead! :)

My last idea for you is that you have too many other things (just for clarification not saying other things are bad it’s just preventing you from reaching your current goal) going on. My friend does like 5 sports + schoolwork + like 3 clubs and doesn’t have hardly any free time. This makes it hard for her to even learn a new hobby, let alone be successful/practice/enjoy/ect. her hobby.

Solution: find the things you like best and quit/don’t join the other stuff (Ik it’s hard but you have to have priorities in this situation)

So
so sorry if this wasn’t helpful I tried (but also its like way too late and I should prob be in bed rn so my sentences might not even be readable ) but i know everyone’s situation is different and I only listed things I have experienced first-hand or second. And if this wasn’t the type of advice you were looking for
 sry ‘bout that :flushed_face::sweat_smile::face_with_peeking_eye:

Good luck!!!
:sparkles:sending crochet vibes <3:sparkles:

I sometimes get these energy rushes. And I can so like 2 rounds a minute for my snakes. When I start to crochet for a long time then I naturally get fast. I also try to crochet every minute of my free time

okay! do you have time to crochet at school??

I don’t unfortunately

For me, the biggest thing is just simply picking up my crochet. Once I pick it up, I could crochet forever. But it’s just getting it through my head that it’s just as easy to pick up crochet as it is to pick up my phone. Next time you pick up your phone to do something mindless, stop and think to yourself “could I be doing something more productive like crochet?” And if so “is it really that hard to just pick up my last project?”

Or another trick would be to challenge yourself to pick up your project for 5 minutes. Even set a timer. Just tell yourself you have to do it for 5 minutes. And after the timer goes off, you might be too “hooked” to stop!!

oooh okay!! i think ill try the timer thing to get my projects done! tysm!

First look at reasons why you don’t want to: Is it burnout? Then quit making stuff for everybody else; quit trying to get it all done as fast as you can; quit making stuff to sell, and decline all commissions, testing, and dump your WIPS that you don’t enjoy. You’re an artist not a robot.

Is it because your plate is full? First, quit saying yes to everything and everyone- learn from the pain you felt when you realized you over committed; ( part of emotional maturity is saying no); dump ALL and who that doesn’t feed your soul or make you feel drained ( of course take care of your responsibilities); if you enjoy being alone and crocheting that’s ok,

Is it because you’re experiencing pain or frustrated with some aspect of it? Pain? Maybe you need a different hook? Your stitches too tight? RELAX; dump the yarn that you’re frustrated with cuz it’s splitting; try different hooks so that you feel like your hook is gliding, squeaky getting on your nerves? Change hook or yarn; your back and shoulders hurt? Trying sitting cross cross applesauce and rest your elbows on two pillows;change position; getting headache? Try increasing the lighting.
Pain persists? Then rest it -directing your energy to organizing your yarn, yarn room, patterns, reading up on crochet ideas you want to explore, make a wish list of patterns/ yarn.
Unmotivated? Dump whatever WIP or patterns that doesn’t spark you and go start something new. Learn a new stitch, or try other types of crochet. That yarn barf draining your motivation? . See if someone else wants to unravel it or donate it. Get out in nature, go dabble in whatever sparks your creativity ,
Just start 1-2 rows every day, if that’s all you did- that’s ok. Don’t give in to the pressure of trying to finish it asap.
Every artist struggles with periods of low to no motivation. Just trust the process, don’t give up, and it will return. I don’t think it’s a matter of enough time necessarily, because we all make time for that which we find pleasure in.

Hope that helps!

I first do all he things I have to do at home, but know I get home earlier so it’s easier, then I read a chapter or two and get a few rows done, or working on other projects!

Try to do everything you need to do first and crochet right after you’re done?
