Ive just made myself a Instagram and was just wondering :) thanks in advance
I’m not a big expert in the instagram stuff… so idrk , but maybe try to make a few posts, get some of your crochet friends on Ribblr to follow you and maybe watch camrynscutecreations insta video? I haven’t watched it myself, but I’m sure it’s good!
not 100% sure. maybe it’s because i dont have insta, but i can try helping<3
post pictures of some pretty crafts you’ve made with good lighting; that way it’ll look a lot more professional. people LOVE pictures that are taken in well lighting. it may gain other’s attention, and end up sharing your posts with some other people who may be interested in your work, and end up following you. i apologize if this didnt make much sense
It makes sense dw<3
thank uu combrez<33
Maybe add a link to it
Btw I just followed
My advice would be post consistently and try to make your point posts/reels look interesting and good quality! And it takes time so gain followers so be patient and don’t give up🫶🏻ALSO JUST FOLLOWED UR INSTA <333
I don’t use instagram as much as i used to because if you don’t post reels you dont get anyone seeing your stuff, even my followers dont see it. The algorithm seems to be against pure picture posters now. I gave up for a long time and now just post on my own terms with no expectations to avoid disappointment. I hope you have better luck
Honestly it depends on what you are using it for. If you are a pattern designer, you want to look for crochet peeps to follow you. If you want to sell finished items, having a bunch of crochet followers doesn’t really do you any good so you’ll want to gear it towards the clientele you are wanting (i.e. baby items = parents, etc). If you are using it so you can apply to tester calls, then it really doesn’t matter who follows you.
In general, you’ll want high quality photos and videos. You will also need to work on finding the right hashtags for the people/groups you are wanting to reach. Also, consistency seems to be important to be seen.
My biggest gain of followers happens when I make something from a popular designer and tag them in the post! That is a great way to get your name out there
If you’d like to follow me, I’d be happy to follow back mine is novaraine.crochet
(I’ve been neglecting mine since I recently had a baby and my life has been hectic )
putting tags in your posts can help, like “#/crochet #/amigurumi”. i created my account twoish months ago and i have about 500 followers, so I’m no expert, but I haven’t been very active there since October.
also, following smaller accounts can help. once you’ve made a post or too (so people know you aren’t a bot), if you follow some smaller crochet accounts, they’re much more likely to follow back!
