How to join granny circles?

Hi everyone so I am finishing up this afghan I am making..

The entire thing is made of various sizes granny squares and granny circles.

I was wondering if anyone has a good joining method for the circles? I was going to do the sc lace style.

Sc lace method:

Just wondering how I fill in the gaps after or if I should do a different method?

I have never made an afghan like this before, but I think that the method you found should work. For filling in the gaps, you could give whip stitch the circles together. I don’t know how well it would work though

This is part of the pattern I am using and adding 2 personalized squares in the middle

This is what I have so far with joining the circles

I just wanted to make sure the border will be ok and that I can fill in gaps so there isn’t anything that isn’t solid (if that makes sense)

I’m making circles around the entire blanket and I’m hoping that the border will even out the circle part of the circles?

It should. If it doesn’t, you can try and add bigger stitches like a double crochet so you can get to that space between the circles

I was thinking about doing a DC, CH 1, DC border

I think that would work!

I tried to work a few different border variations before I kept going with the joining and that seemed to be the one.

Process of elimination and brain power
