So I am financially challenged which often means that the yarn I buy is the inexpensive stuff. I still find pretty colors which is nice and the yarn tends to be pretty rough feeling. I was thinking, when it comes time to block, I have a little steamer Im going to use and I was thinking to also spray it down with some diluted fabric softener? Thoughts?

not sure how/if the fabric softener would work. does that work with acrylic yarn?
i think steaming it is a pretty good option! i’ve also heard that washing them softens them up a bit (put in water, lay to dry).
