For some context, I’m crocheting a cardigan. I’m planning on sewing fabric on the inside of the cardigan because I had to use a lot of color changes and the pattern side (the back) is going to be messy. I was planning on covering it up with fabric, the yarn is also a bit scratchy considering it’s acrylic yarn. I was wondering how would I know how to tell how many yards of fabric I would need, and how to measure that out to tell how much I should buy. (I’m wanting to have some extra over) Any and help is appreciated, thank you in advance!

Counts on what size you are making your sweater. I used to make nursing uniform tops and it took 2 yards of fabric for large and under. Xl and up was 3 yards.
