yeah its really crummy and as i trans guy it crushed me that my childhood idol/author of my favorite books was transphobic. i dont support her ir her actions but i still love the books and movies, i grew up on them theyre like home to me.
yup, i’m a trans guy myself and jkr in my opinion is a worm that deserves to be devoured by a particularly hungry bird. fanfics have nothing to do with her, and i write them myself to make the characters as queer as possible just to spite her. she made a wonderful world, wasted it, and now we as a fandom are taking it from her one fic at a time.

Just because you think that, she purposely put biblical aspects in her books. Just because you don’t agree with her religion, doesn’t mean you need to wish bad upon her. You read her books, that’s all that needs to be said. You DO NOT need to wish bad upon her. No one deserves that. It is really awful that you said that. She wrote wonderful books, and she did not waste them. Nothing about them is wasted. Please keep negative opinions to yourself. I am not a supporter of LGBTQ, but you don’t see me posting against it. Just don’t do this please. I will be praying for you.

i have nothing against ‘biblical aspects’ in her books. i have everything against her actions after the books were published, i.e. trans- and acephobia. it sucks to see her using a platform so large to sow hatred and erasure against my community. she hates us, i hate her.
also, i was born and raised christian, i don’t believe in god, but you don’t see me posting against it. in fact, i was really active in my church community until i moved, and our church has lovely rainbow mass every year :) so nothing against christianity either, just against using it to justify hatred.
i appreciate the thought, and even though you apparently agree with thoughts against the lgbtq+ communtity, i appreciate you using correct pronouns for me :)
We appreciate all your input, but this topic is starting to shift away from the space’s theme and the positive and welcoming spirit we aim to foster in our community. While it’s totally okay to hold different beliefs, and it’s even important to disagree, Ribblr isn’t the right space for personal or heated debates.
We also want to avoid situations that lead to flagged content or personal comments, as those can result in account penalties—and that’s something we’d much rather prevent.
