Huge yarn windfall of huge yarn! Ideas?

i think that you could make a hand knit bee with the orange/yellowish color, gray and white. i’m not sure if that’s just how the colors shows up on camera. i hope that you find smth nice to do with all the yarn

I have a perfect small bee pattern to use. I didn’t think to use the grey as a counterpoint color. Thanks.

I haven’t made a duck in white, ever. I should remedy this.

Ironically, my husband brought the ghost home today. He’s actually 8 inches tall.

Here’s some jumbo comparison pics.

Jumbo (Size 7) vs Bernat blanket (size 6)

Jumbo (size 7) vs Big Twist Posh (size 5)

Another duck that i loved was this one (not my pattern, just loved it)

I made it for a friend and they loved it too <3
Its quite small but i think it would be a nice project

I’ve seen a couple squishmellow inspired patterns popping up lately. Maybe one of those? The shape would be really simple I think.

wait, did you use a hook to make the jumbo ghost or your fingers??

Well, I used my biggest hook to help with the initial magic ring and the sc into it, but then I switched to my fingers… I’m pretty sure. I crocheted it in October, and that’s soooo long ago. ;)
I started a pocket frog yesterday using my fingers, and remembered why I want to get a hook. My index finger felt like it was getting rug burns after a while because I was using it as the hook. Also, doing the bobble stitch for the eye was crazy using my fingers. I have long fingers, but it was hard to keep all the loops on.

ouch :sob: i… made a magic ring with my fingers last night, lol. i got one skein of jumbo yarn for fun a month ago or so, lol. i’m probably just going to make a ball XD

i-i’m not going to try to make a bbl :sob: my fingers are short enough…

WAIT. what if you made your table pattern with jumbo yarn??? that would be so cool. (i would make it, but i don’t think i have enough yarn :sob:)

I’m not sure if I’d even have enough yarn for that. I’m learning I can only make very simple, almost micro patterns. The frog I was making is already 6" long, and I’m only on row 4.
The table probably would end up being life-sized.

The pocket frog pattern I’m using I can’t link from Ribblr. It was on Ribblr last year when I snagged it, but the designer must’ve deleted it so I can’t share. I just found it on Instagram though, and the pattern has been updated. I think I’ll try it the updated way.

that’s true. i just freehanded a blueberry (bc i wanted a pattern, but i reached my pattern limit :joy:) and it turned out a little bigger than my hand with 6/7 rounds. (i’m gonna make mini ones with a 3mm hook → earrings!!)

my blueberry

i used loose tension, lol

how was your frog that big??? also, a life-sized crochet table would be so funny :joy:

cool!! i’ve seen that pattern, lol.

Ok. I guess I’m awful at eyeballing inches.
The frog is currently 9" by 6", with the 6" being from the mr nose to row 4.

lol. dw, i’m the same. that’s cool though!! how many rounds is the frog in total??

10 on the updated, but there were 11 on the original .. I’ll have to look to see what the differences are.
