I learned to knit!

Anyone have tips for me? I just learned to knit and a lot of it is quite confusing compared to crochet..

I am gonna make a scarf soon, also, aside from knitting, i crocheted my first clothing peice! It is a granny square vest and is so nice-fitting on my i am so proud! (It was also freehanded btw)

Ooo noice:D I do recommend using a Korean version of knitting when my grandma thought me how to do it, it was way much more less complicated you might wanna translate it or like use ty e caption

Once you get the hang of it it’s way much more easier:P

Definitely try out different styles of knitting, most knitters who started crochet first have an easier time with continental knitting than English style. If you want to learn continental, I recommend Nimble Needles channel, he’s great at explaining it to beginners. Good luck with your knitting endeavours!

I recommend using plastic or bamboo needles rather than metal needles because they always feel warm

Knitting a scarf can be a good way to get practice with knitting. My recommendation would be to experiment with knit and purl stitches. So after you have tried several rows with knit stitches (which in this combination is called garter stitch), you could try knitting one row, purling the next, and so on (this combination is called stockinette). Once you feel comfortable, you could try creating patterns by mixing knit and purl stitches in one row. I am sure: by the end of the scarf you have learned a lot about knitting. The scarf will be wearable and a nice stitch sample for you to refer to.

Good luck, and especially: have fun!
