Hi:) let me start this off by saying I’m NOT leaving. I just feel like I used to be so on-top of things, but now I’m just not. I keep finishing testers calls the day of, or the day before. It takes me longer to make a small project. I don’t know what to do. All I know is that I’m not leaving.
we all go through slumps, just know your not alone and im here for you <3
Thanks, loaf:)
You’ve got this! Sometimes we just need a short break, or some inspiration!
I can relate. I’ll go through periods of a week or two where I’ll have like 5 tests I have to finish or none at all, and then I have to finish all those tests, it gets to the point where I’m really pushing the deadline. Just know that you can take a break if you need it. No one here is going to judge you. Just be sure to finish the tests you’ve already committed to, then take a break from testing patterns for as long as you need. Do this for yourself, it’s not selfish to prioritize your mental health over the expectations other people have of you. Don’t overcommit yourself to pattern tests, I’ve been there more than once. Sometimes it’s best to only take one or two patterns on at a time, because you have to make sure you have time for everything that needs to get done.
You may need a break to recharge your batteries. You will find your mojo again
I’m in a slump now too, I definitely understand!
My best way of coping is to try and do another hobby, or something different. I like to read more of videogame more when I’m in that kind of rut.
Would definitely rec. taking a break from tester calls until you feel better about it. The worst thing you can do is keep pushing yourself to the point of burnout.
If you don’t want to stop crocheting, maybe stick to only making things that sound fun to you. Whether that be free patterns, or paid patterns, sometimes I find I can kickstart my creative mind by just doing what it wants to do, rather that what I want it to do.
your fine we need to take time sometimes x
