Ignored feature for patterns

hii, I’m having an issue of accidentally hitting the ‘x’ on patterns on the main feed page. This is usually caused by shakey hands, and I realized it probably won’t be the last time- Also prompting the question of, ‘How do we undo/check this?’

Is there a spot in settings where we can view this, and un-ignore? Is there a timer that it will undo after? I see multiple posts where users say they get the same patterns they purposefully ignored coming back within 24hrs, or so, but I haven’t been able to find a definite answer.

I’ve never seen an option to undo an ignored pattern. I will say that often times it will pop back up eventually, sometimes sooner than expected but part of it is the system trying to learn what you like too. So if you ignore mostly one type of thing, you’ll be unlikely to see those come back, but if it was an accident, it likely will pop up again since you’re not ignoring something if a similar nature consistently.

I do know ribblr has tried to refine this feature too but it’s been tricky. May be something they can add later to be able to see a list of ignored patterns too

For me at least, I get a little pop-up that says “Pattern ignored” and gives me the option to undo that. I use a laptop (I’m guessing you’re on a phone) so you could try to use Ribblr on a different device. I know there are quite a few things Ribblrs with phones cannot do but other Ribblr users can (probably because of differences in processing power, screen size, operating system permissions, and hardware capabilities), so it seems likely this is one of those.

I wouldn’t worry about accidentally pressing the x because whatever you accidentally ignored will keep coming back. I keep ignoring the same patterns over and over and over again and they keep coming up in my feed routinely. It’s very frustrating.

As mentioned you can hit undo in the toast message that comes up at the bottom of the screen for a misclick.

Ignored patterns won’t come back for a minimum of several months, that’s how the system is built, but if it’s one misclick it shouldn’t skew your entire algorithm too much. :star:

Please note this currently doesn’t work across devices so things you ignore on one device may still appear on another device.

I wish that were the case for me.

I see the same patterns over and over and over again despite clicking ignore every time. I mainly use the feed on my mobile.

if you could share some of these with us in a PM, and potentially keep a log for a few (for example, ignored on date X appeared on date Y) - that would be great.

We aren’t aware of any issue though that’s not to say there aren’t any. We’ll investigate further when we get that info :slight_smile:
