Increasing with icicle/larks foot stitches?

Hey everyone! I’d love some help!

So I’m crocheting a piece with icicle stitches and I need to be in the shape of an isosceles trapezium. I couldn’t find any tutorials for increasing/decreasing with icicle stitches and I can’t think of any other way to achieve this shape( it’s also the first time I’ve ever done this stitch so I’m a bit of a noob:face_without_mouth:). Has anyone done this before or has any suggestions?

Ok so for anyone interested I’ve played around a bit and I think I found a way. Idk if I can explain it well but here we go:
So the stitches at the end of the row are either in groups of 4 dc or 2 dc. To increase: once you’ve done the row that has the spike dcs and also start and end with 2 consecutive dcs. In the following row you increase in those 2 consecutive dcs to make it 4 dc then you follow the ‘pattern’ for the icicle stitch as if you are doing the part that starts and finishes with 2 consecutive dcs. Essentially you do the part, that has 4 consecutive dcs, twice

Here’s a pic of how I increased:

Theoretically the same could be applied to decrease ( I haven’t tried this yet tho). Instead of using the 2 consecutive dcs you use the 4 consecutive dcs, at the start and end of the row, and decrease to make them 2.

You can only add stitched or take away stitches in the rows that do not have the spike double crochet

It’s a bit messy so if anyone has a better way please share :folded_hands:
