instructional videos not working

I just discovered that none of my personal instructional videos are working on my online Ribblr patterns. They’ve worked in the past, but aren’t working now. When I click on the icon they start to load, but never completely load. I’m not sure what has changed to cause them to stop loading. They work fine on other sites and my pdf patterns. Any ideas?

Can you explain a bit more what you mean?

As a designer I create a pattern and in the written instructions I insert a video on some rounds. The videos are not loading. These videos are Youtube videos.

Hmm that’s strange, do you happen to have any free patterns where this happens? I can see if it’s just you experiencing this or affecting everyone, are you making sure the video uploads all the way?(not sure if that’s how it works)

Ok, I’m on my iphone right now, and the videos come up. I was using Firefox (which I always use) when they would not load. :woman_facepalming:t2: I’ll check the videos on other web browsers. I may need to put a disclaimer on my patterns to not use specific web browsers. Crazy!

Sooo… the videos only open in Safari. They don’t open up on Bing, Google or Firefox web browsers. Go to Kinnedy Nichelle Square, which is free pattern. Click on any of the videos to see what I’m seeing. So far, Safari is the only web browser users can use for the interactive pattern to watch my videos.

I’m on the app and it works fine, sorry for the late replies! For whatever reason it’s not notifying me when you reply to my comments

@Ribblr it seems videos in patterns aren’t displaying correctly on certain search engines for @AYarnofSerendipity in their patterns

Hi @AYarnofSerendipity are you referring to your linked Youtube videos in the pattern’s instructions?

We have tested it on Chrome via computer here and it works just fine! Feel free to send us a private message or attach here a few screenshots of what you’re seeing.

Thanks

It works on Safari, but not on Bing, Google or Firefox. I’ve attached a still shot of a video I took. It just spins, and doesn’t load. The videos have always worked on Firefox, so I don’t know what has changed.

Thanks!

Our team could not reproduce this issue, which means it’s most likely a local issue.

We recommend the following steps:

  1. Clear your cookies on your browser
  2. Make sure to enable third party cookies. This should allow you to play videos outside of Youtube.

By the way, whilst you can use Ribblr on most browser we offer the best support for Safari and Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera).

Yes that works. Thank you.
