You know how ever when someone finds out you crochet their always like “cAn YoU MaKe Me SoMeThINg” yeah well I can not say no:-[ so now I’m so posed to make someone I don’t even know a teddy bear my friend a loaf cat and a octopus lol :(

When I was in school I used to draw and sketch during breaks and people would always come up an be like “what is this gonna be??” and it was so annoying.
But honestly, I guess the only way to prevent this from happening is practicing to say no. I know it is hard and it makes you uncomfortable, I also don’t like it and am not the best at it. But being able to say no is a nice skill to keep your personal peace.
You are not obliged to make anyone anything and especially for free. It is your time, your money (if you got the yarn) and even if you had both, it is still your choice. Just because someone thinks “oh this is cute, I want it” does not mean they have to get it. Often they don’t even appreciate and respect your craft, when they think this, so I guess they don’t really deserve it. I know it can be hard with friends, but still they should respect your choices.
Sorry for the long post, and please don’t take this as an offense, I just wanted to give my thoughts and not patronize anyone

Agreed. It’s hard. But, NO is a very important skill to learn. Should be taught along with learning to crochet. Have fun.

I also hate it when the person you end up making something for doesn’t even care that the gift you gave them took so many hours to make. One time I made a gift for someone’s Birthday and it took me so long, and I made it when we lost power during Helene so I had to literally use a flashlight to see it, and when I gave it to her, she threw it around so much that she broke it in like a day, and didn’t even understand why I was upset.

Wow that is like not cool at all.
The same thing literally just happened to me yesterday! But I enjoy being able to do it though. Because it’s not like they are doing it annoy us on purpose. They just think it’s cool so they ask for one. Idk
