is bernat blanket washable in a bowl of soapy water?

didn’t expect to post again so soon lol, but there was a bit of a mishap at work and the lady i sit with spilled her entire glass of sweet tea onto my project and skein of yarn. now there wasn’t much on the skein so i wiped it off with a damp paper towel, but im not sure if any got on the project. so how should i go about cleaning it later? there’s no stuffing in it, so would it be okay if i washed it in the sink/bowl of warm soapy water? or should i more spot treat with a warm paper towl if i notice any dried tea? thanks for the suggestions

I don’t think anything will happen if you soak it in soapy water. I never tried it before but if you do it just make sure it dries 100% before stuffing it for anything or else it will get moldy later on. =)

i won’t be stuffing this one at all actually. i had already closed it up and was working on a separate piece when it happened

Since it’s bernat blanket it should be completely fine if you wash it gently! I’ve had to do it before Good thing it wasn’t a different type of chenille though lol:sob:

It should be ok. I use bernat blanket yarn and I had to wash a project I was working on after my cat swiped it and it got dirty when my back was turned. I washed it in my washing machine and it came out fine. Then air dried it after.

My son has been spilling any drink he manages to get a hold of (he’s under 1 still), and I swear somehow every single time, it gets in either my yarn, a finished project, or a WIP.
Thankfully only things I’ve made for him or myself lol
I’ve done spot cleaning with some of them with good success, and I’ve also put his blanket in the wash. I made his blanket with bernat baby blanket yarn and washed it on gentle, tap water (cold water) and then dried it on low heat, but only did like half the cycle and hung dry it the rest of the way.

Check the package if you still have it and it may tell you if it’s machine washable. I think it would be fine though

Same as @Smerphscreations said, I wash mine in the washer and then air dry. Mine was completely fine and I have even washed the loops and threads plushies as well in the washer
